A family in Apex is looking for an experienced full-time nanny to start as soon as possible. Their oldest child is five years old and currently in Transitional Kindergarten, attending half-day school. He enjoys building things, has a great interest in cars, and likes water activities and sports. He is already participating in soccer and baseball teams, and his parents plan to enroll him in other sports throughout the year, as well as extracurricular activities such as Taekwondo and swimming lessons. The family also has an almost one-year-old child to whom they would like to be exposed to a variety of activities.

The family enjoys taking trips to various locations such as the beach, big cities, mountains, and unique stays, and they hope to add more international travel to their list. They live in a Single-Family Home at the border of Apex/Holly Springs in a large neighborhood consisting of almost 800 homes, with a clubhouse, exercise facilities, resort-style swimming pool with large slide/lazy pool, basketball court, tennis and pickleball courts, and a kids’ playground. The family is particular about keeping their house clean and tidy and does not allow shoes or pets inside. They teach their children the same values and expect their nanny to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, help with cooking, laundry, showers, cutting nails, keeping their items clean and tidy, planning activities for kids, and cleaning up after activities.

The father works mainly from home, with occasional out-of-home office-related work, while the mother is a Physical Therapist who has taken some time off to take care of the children but plans to return to work part-time once they have stable childcare. They have housekeeping help every 3-4 weeks, and the father takes care of drop-off and pick-ups for their oldest, so no driving is expected from the nanny.

Both parents grew up in NC, and they have a good balance of spending time with the kids in the house and with family, as they have a lot of family in the area. They observe some eating restrictions in the home: no pork or alcohol. They eat Zabiha/halal meat only and only consume products that are halal to the best of their knowledge. They ask the nanny to avoid bringing pork into the home but may have their own food of other kinds (clearly labeled). Their oldest child has allergies to tree nuts, bananas, and avocados. They read every ingredient on prepackaged foods to be sure there is no trace of these allergens and that they are processed in a facility free of these allergens. They have labeled everything very clearly to avoid miscommunication or confusion and encourage everyone to ask if something is safe.

The family loves to be outdoors when the weather permits and engage in activities such as taking walks in parks, in the neighborhood, going to the lake, pool, playing football/soccer, American football, etc. Their oldest child has good communication skills and is good at vocalizing his emotions and feelings. They are looking for a nanny who can communicate well with the children and let them express their frustrations, feelings, and emotions without dismissing them. They are strong advocates for discipline in a firm yet appropriate manner and expect the nanny to maintain house rules and behave professionally.

They are looking for someone who is organized, tidy, calm, conservative, creative, flexible, with open communication, and who goes beyond the minimum requirements. The family is looking for a nanny with a strong background and professional childcare experience as they had only au pairs in the past. They are practicing Muslims and need someone who can dress modestly around their kids, making sure not to wear revealing shorts or dressing. They hope the nanny will see this as a professional position and carry herself accordingly. They are looking for someone for the long term, as they plan to expand their family over the years, and they want the nanny to be an extension of their family.
