A dynamic and easygoing family of five in West Cary is seeking a professional, reliable, and engaging Full-Time Family Assistant and Driving Nanny to support their busy household. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and committed to fostering a nurturing, stimulating, and structured environment for three bright and active children.

About the Family

This warm and welcoming household includes two girls, aged 13 and 10, and a boy, aged 6. The children enjoy a range of activities including ballet, piano, chess, reading, outdoor play, and adventurous exploration. Both parents work full-time in demanding roles and are looking for a dedicated and long-term caregiver who can offer support in both childcare and household management.

Position Details

The role will include driving the children daily from school and various after-school activities (approx. 2 hours of daily driving). A family vehicle (van) will be provided for all job-related transportation needs.

This is a live-out position requiring a minimum of 25 hours per week, with working hours typically falling between 12:00 PM and 5:00–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Flexibility for occasional evening coverage when one parent is traveling is appreciated but not frequently needed.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare:

  • Provide care and supervision for children when they are not in school
  • Manage children’s laundry and help keep their areas tidy
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks (for example, dishes, tidying, sweeping, vacuuming)
  • Help organize family and kid areas around the home
  • Pick up children from school and drive them to after-school activities; driving typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours each day between three different schools using the provided family vehicle
  • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
  • Assist with homework and school projects
  • Foster a warm, patient, and creative environment

Household Support:

  • Perform light household duties including:
  • Tidying up common areas and kitchen after use
  • Folding and putting away laundry
  • Wiping down counters and general light upkeep
  • Occasional light meal prep or snack preparation for children
  • Help maintain overall household organization

Requirements

Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Nanny and/or Household/Family Assistant

Clean driving record and confidence with daily transportation of children

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Fluency in English

Demonstrated ability to assist with homework and basic tutoring

COVID-19 vaccination (booster highly preferred)

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Ability to pass a comprehensive background check

Minimum of two strong references, ideally written as well

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $24–$30/hour, based on experience

Paid Holidays: All major holidays are paid and off

Vacation: Family travels 3–4 weeks per year; approximately half of this time will be paid time off for the nanny

Additional Time Off: 3 personal/sick/inclement weather days annually
