New to Durham Family of Physicians are seeking a FT Nanny to join their team to care for two boys JOB 214

This friendly and happy Family is looking for a Nanny to become part of their long-term family dynamic. Their boys are fun-loving, and their oldest enjoys playing with blocks, trucks, and learning letters and numbers. They value a Nanny who will engage with the children, have conversations with them, and provide a loving environment. Hugs are always welcome! While some educational television is allowed, they prefer the children to be active and engaged in activities.

Their oldest is a 2-year-old who enjoys outdoor activities, learning letters, and engaging in creative and academic pursuits. They are looking for a Nanny who will actively participate in these activities and help him develop his social and cognitive skills. Taking the children to library programs and other age-appropriate activities will be part of the role. There may also be opportunities for their 2-year-old to attend a preschool a few mornings a week or engage in playdates with other children. For now, their 7-month-old is all about having a smiling face that talks to him and is loving.

As parents, they prioritize teaching their oldest about his actions and right from wrong, and they handle misbehavior with firmness and calmness. They value consistency and are open to collaborating with the Nanny to create a plan that they can all follow.

In addition to engaging the children in indoor and outdoor activities, light driving will be required to take them to parks, museums, and other outings suitable for both children. Safety is of the utmost importance, and they expect the Nanny to always prioritize the well-being of their boys.

They have had a successful Nanny for almost two years, and the only reason they are looking for a new Nanny is due to their upcoming move to Durham. Their current Nanny has a great rapport with the children. Their only challenge this year was her health, which made it difficult for them to find alternative childcare. Therefore, they seek a Nanny who is in good health (and their family as well, if it would impact their ability to come to work).

The hours for this position may vary as both parents are starting new jobs. However, there will always be an early start time, with the Nanny expected to arrive at 6:15 am SHARP. The children are usually asleep during this time, so breakfast and lunch preparation will be part of the Nanny’s responsibilities in the morning.

Some days, one of the parents may be home early (around 3 pm), while on other days they could be off or home by noon. Occasionally, there may be times when they return home as late as 6 pm. While they are unsure of the exact times of arrival due to their new jobs a schedule and hours needed will be provided in advance so the Nanny can plan out children’s activities and personal life. A guarantee of a minimum of 40 hours per week will be offered and on average the Nanny will be needed 50 hours per week.

During the Parent’s four weeks of vacation per year, the Nanny will be paid for their 40 hours, which will count as their paid vacation. They can work together to coordinate the Nanny’s personal vacation time, considering their preferences. In case the Nanny is ill, they are willing to accommodate them wearing a mask and taking precautions to avoid getting the children sick. Alternatively, they can discuss finding a suitable replacement. As they cannot miss work, they ask the Nanny to plan doctor visits or personal time on days when their work schedules allow for early dismissal.

The Family has a hypoallergenic, non-shedding older dog. He mostly sleeps but will need to be let out into the backyard or taken for a quick walk a couple of times a day.

Regarding house cleaning, they expect the Nanny to maintain a clean kitchen, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, as the Nanny will be preparing two meals for the children. Keeping the areas utilized by the children tidy, along with swiffering and vacuuming the floors, and performing light dusting, is also required. Their current Nanny takes care of these tasks during naptime or in the mornings while the children are still asleep. Additionally, running and putting away the children’s laundry will be part of the responsibilities.

Ultimately, this Family’s ideal Nanny is someone who genuinely loves children, spends quality time playing and interacting with their boys, and enjoys outdoor activities. Punctuality and flexibility with hours are also of utmost importance due to their jobs, someone who would form part of their family long term as well.

We would love to hear from you if you fit this description and believe you can be a valuable addition to this busy but thoughtful and loving Family.
