About the Family
A warm and active family in Chapel Hill is seeking an experienced and engaging full-time nanny and house manager to care for their two young children and help keep their household running smoothly.
The family lives in a casual, welcoming house in Chapel Hill. Dad works full-time from home. They are an active family who enjoys being outdoors, doing crafts, and having fun together.
C, (6) – Active and playful! Loves being outdoors, reading books with his caregivers, and playing with trains or anything with wheels. He is currently in kindergarten and attends school until 2:30 pm. His school is within walking distance of the house, and the nanny will be in charge of picking him up.
I, (4) – Attends preschool until 2:00 pm. Full of imagination and energy! Enjoys imaginative play, dancing, soccer, and dressing up.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal nanny is nurturing yet confident, enjoys being hands-on and fully engaged in play, and has a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth. They should be a great communicator, a problem solver, and ready to become an important part of this family’s daily life.
Schedule and Hours
Start Date: August 3rd
Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours per Week: 40
No weekends or evenings are required
Ideal for a long-term agreement 2+ years
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $25 – $30/hour (based on experience and education)
Paid Holidays: 8
Paid Vacation: 10 days
Paid Sick Days: 2 days
Family reports Nanny’s Tax and uses a payroll service.
Health insurance stipend upon need.
Duties & Expectations
The Nanny will provide part-time care for both children, including driving them from school and to scheduled activities. The family is seeking a nanny who is:
- Engaging and proactive – ready to lead play and plan activities that nurture the children’s development.
- Organized and adaptable – able to anticipate needs, take initiative (like organizing art supplies or planning a walk when kids have extra energy), and communicate effectively with parents.
- Experienced with children’s developmental and physical needs.
- Consistent with discipline – supporting the family’s approach of firm boundaries, timeouts, and loss of privileges when needed.
- Ready to organize outdoor activities and day trips to the local playground, library, events, and museums.
Household and managing Responsibilities
All light housekeeping related to the family and children: wiping kitchen counters, family laundry, emptying the dishwasher, taking out trash, and vacuuming common areas, errands, grocery shopping, and meal prep, etc…
Additional Details
COVID-19 vaccination required.
Care for sick children is requested, except for flu or COVID-19.
Reliability, strong communication skills, and professionalism are highly valued.
The household has a bi-weekly cleaning service.
