Durham Family of Three expecting their 2nd and needs FT Nanny to add to the Team JOB 181

Happy and Active young Durham Family are expecting their second child in November and looking to add the perfect Full-time Nanny in the first week of August.  A Monday – Friday schedule of 8:00am – 5:00pm would be needed with a weekly guarantee of 45 hours.

The Family describes themselves as an active and outdoorsy family, and during the weekends and our off-work hours, you can find them on adventure very often and love being in their backyard.  They also love taking their 2yo to museums, the pool, and out and about in Durham.  They also love to travel and try to get out for weekend excursions and longer trips as often as possible.  They are expecting a baby boy in November and are extremely excited to expand their family!

Their 2yo is a sweet, active and fun-loving toddler!  During the day she loves to read books, color and play with her toys.  One of her favorite things to do is explore and play outside in the backyard, and they do that daily when weather permits.  She is a true animal lover, and though they don’t have pets of their own she will walk up to any size dog or cat and say hello.  She also loves to go to the park and the pool, and attends a variety of classes: farm class, music class, and gymnastics.  She is an incredibly loving toddler, and just loves to be where the action is.  She has a lot of fun helping around the house with cooking, dishes, and laundry too!

Their perfect Nanny would be someone who is patient, kind and energetic – ideally experienced with toddlers.  Someone who would talk and read often with their 2yo, and also be excited to be active outdoors daily.  The ideal candidate will also be proactive, organizing engaging and age-appropriate activities for the kids, and making suggestions of activities that could be fun to parents.  They are looking for someone who is comfortable with transportation to school (2yo will be starting half day pre-school in the fall), playdates and other activities.  It’s an added bonus if this person has experience supporting a toddler through the arrival of a new sibling. The total number of years of experience is not as important to them as someone who is hyper-professional, proactive, loves kids and is open to partnering with them on creating an environment that is best for their kids.

Aside from the loving care and development of the little girl and boy, other responsibilities would include light housekeeping related to the children – tidying up play areas, keeping the kitchen clean after mealtimes, loading the dishwasher etc.  They are happy for this to happen during naptimes, but also don’t mind if the Nanny has their daughter’s help.  While travel is not required, they are looking for someone who would be open to joining them on some family vacations.  Also, while they would prefer the Nanny has their own reliable vehicle, they are also open to the Nanny driving their car for some activities.

Their 2yo will be starting half-day pre-school in September through May. It will be from 9am-12pm, and the Nanny would be responsible for drop off/pickup.  The pre-school is about a 5-minute drive from their house.  They will also be expecting a second baby at the end of November, so the role will expand to caring for both children (and tag-teaming with Mom while she is on maternity leave).  They would give an increase in hourly pay at that time.
